Elkhorn Valley Oatmeal Bedding

Oatmeal bedding has the consistency of large flakes of oatmeal.

In animal bedding, quality is everything. In producing our Elkhorn Valley Animal Bedding, we start with only clean, kiln dried softwood scraps. We closely monitored quality at every stage of production to ensure you get clean, fresh, super absorbent bedding in every bag.

Clean, kiln dried, softwood is received in a covered load bay and ground immediately in a 2-step process. Softwood meal is segregated in overhead bins by type and source. Batches are weighed out and moisture checked. The bedding meal is then transferred to overhead bins for pelleting. The meal is pressed through dies with small holes to form pellets, greatly densifying the material. Lignins in the wood act as a natural binder, holding the pellets together. Pellets are cooled then crumble by passing through precise spaced rollers. Crumbled pellets are then screened to separate sizes (large and small) and remove fines.
